On January 16, 2025, our Innovation & Network Specialist Sarah Talea Kretschmer represented #GETHAC at a panel discussion at the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) in Berlin.

The session, titled "𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨," brought together leading experts to share practical solutions for increasing resilience in agriculture. Sarah shared insights on how knowledge exchange and hands-on demonstrations with farmers are supporting the transition to more sustainable, resource-efficient farming practices in Thailand.

At the German-Thai Agricultural Cooperation (GETHAC) Project, we work closely with farmers to discuss, test, adapt, and implement practical solutions that improve soil health, reduce chemical inputs, and build long-term resilience. Being able to share these experiences on a global stage and discuss the ground realities with fellow experts was a great opportunity to connect local solutions with global challenges. Seeing how innovative approaches and sustainable agriculture are making farming more resilient across different contexts is both exciting and motivating.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the fellow panelists for their insights and inspiration:

  • Ms 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗷, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand

  •  Ms Gerardine Mukeshimana, Vice President, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

  • Ms Helga Flores Trejo, Special Envoy for Multilateral Affairs on Sustainability, Bayer

and to the moderator Dr. Dirk Pauschert for leading this engaging discussion.

Another special highlight was the chance that Ms.Sarah Talea Kretschmer also 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱’𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘁, at the opening of the Thai Pavilion at the Green Week.
